Cerezen are custom made, hollow ear inserts that targets your TMJ pain via the direct access point in the ear canals.
How Does Cerezen Work?
When you open and close your mouth, your ear canals are also opening and closing. This is happening because the TMJ is directly below our ear canals, and the motion of opening and closing our mouths causes this dimension change in our ears.
The Cerezen devices are made to be roughly 20% bigger than the ear canals in a closed bite position (ear impressions are taken whilst teeth are rested on a bite block).
As you go to clench/grind, the cerezen devices will stop your ear canals from changing dimension. This triggers a cognitive awareness that sends messages to the brain, telling the brain that this is an uncomfortable position.
The way your brain will correct itself, is by returning the jaw to a slightly open bite position, relieving the tension in the facial muscles.
Will The Devices Be Uncomfortable?
When you first start wearing your devices, you will be initially aware that they are there, but you will quickly start to not notice them at all.
Because the devices are custom made for your ears, they will be comfortable and fit nicely into your ears.
The beauty of Cerezen is that you won't realise they are working (in the sense that they are so comfortable). The cognitive awareness will trigger the brain to correct itself, without you realising (it won't cause a pain reflex).
